Professor Dennis Hale’s areas of research and interest include local government, American political thought, modern citizenship, the American jury system, and American federalism. He has also been pursuing the challenge that modern jihadist ideology presents to American foreign policy and law enforcement. Hale is the author of the The Jury in America: Triumph and Decline (University Press of Kansas, 2016). His essays and reviews have appeared in he Political Science Quarterly, PS, Society, The Journal of Politics, the American Political Science Review, State and Local Government Review, Polity, Administration and Society, The Political Science Reviewer, The Washington Post, and Newsday.
